The meeting between Gianluigi Donnarumma’s agent and AC Milan’s CEO Marco Fassone which was scheduled for today didn’t end the way the fans wanted to. In effect, both Fassone and Massimiliano Mirabelli came out of the meeting to do a quick press conference to announce Gigio’s decision: he won’t renew his contract with the Rossoneri.

As they said during this brief moment, they made a huge offer to the young goalkeeper, which reportedly would be worth almost €4.5 million per season, but he decided to turn it down and get ready for a new adventure. His contract is expiring at the end of next season but he won’t stay with the Rossoneri anymore as they will try to get the best from this situation.
Both Fassone and Mirabelli told the media that they strongly relied on Gigio for the future of the club but now they will move on and look for other options in that position. For that reason, it seems quite likely that the young Alessandro Plizzari will get at least a chance to earn a starting role for the next season.
After an exciting beginning of the summer transfer window, this is the worst thing that could happen to Milan.
