Vincenzo Montella enjoyed a shaky, yet fairly successful first season in charge of Milan. Montella was a popular appointment after he replaced Cristian Brocchi as the Head Coach of AC Milan - joining in the summer of 2016 from Sampdoria. Now, Montella is set to stay as Milan’s Manager after being offered a new contract by Marco Fassone and the board at AC Milan.

Gianluca Di Marzio report that Montella’s accepted deal will afford the former Roma star a much improved deal after he guided Milan over the line to finally qualify for the Europa League. Montella is now contracted to Milan until 2019 and will likely see another deal come his way should Milan succeed this year.

Despite Montella’s mixed year, we must remember that he has a long way to go to reach his managerial potential - but what better way to get there than by helping Milan hit their former heights?
