After a marvelous Summer transfer window, that included signings like Leonardo Bonucci, Milan seem ready to splurge the cash one final time. This time it would be for the dynamic forward from Borussia Dortmund, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. His signing could be the final piece in the puzzle for a squad that is ready to win now. It would make for a serious race at the top to finally challenge the incumbent of Juventus.
According to transfermrkt.com, he is valued at 61 million Euros which could change especially considering the possible inflation to be caused by the Neymar transfer to PSG this past week for a ridiculous 222 million Euros. So, Milan should act quickly to set the market for a post-Neymar transfer world instead of waiting for it to be set for them. There had been rumors of a bid put in recently for Pierre and his apparent suitors include Barcelona and Liverpool, but nothing concrete. With over 100 million Euros spent already this window, this signing could prove to be tricky to finalize. However, a signing of this magnitude would go a long way to make the Milan faithful really appreciate the owners and start a great relationship between ownership and the fans, which as we all know was not the case with Berlusconi.
So what would Aubameyang bring? His skills are undoubted, he is one of the best finishers in the world and scored 40 goals for Borussia Dortmund in all competitions last season (Whoscored.com). He has world class speed to match his scoring prowess which could be a great asset in the notoriously physical Serie A. He is a great player on the counter attack and one who likes to cut inside for runs which could make for a great pairing with Hakan Calhanoglu playing behind him or allows for a two forward system with new signing Andre Silva.
AC Milan should be all in on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. A return to the glory days is what all Milan fans hope for and Aubameyang can be the catalyst to put everything into motion. They already have a solid defense, great goalkeeper and leadership/pedigree, now they need a lethal goalscorer to complement a young Silva. Pierre will be worth the price and Milan should pay it to complete a perfect Summer for the Rossoneri.
