Carlos Bacca was once again dropped from the squad for the Europa League return leg against Romanian side Craiova. The message is that he needs to find a new club, and it couldn’t be clearer.
After two seasons in red and black that had their moments, Bacca could return to Sevilla - the team he came from in the first place. In this regard, Sevilla’s president Jose Castro weighed in on the Carlos Bacca matter: "We need a left back and we want to close with another purchase. I spoke with Bacca, it could be an option, he would like to return here", reports Gianluca Di Marzio.
Castro is also quoted by Calciomercato as saying "We always take into consideration the possibility of getting good players. I do not want to go into the specific case of Carlos Bacca. We are aware that it is complicated and difficult to get him, but Sevilla never neglects anything."
Milan reeled in Bacca for a total of 30 mil. EUR in 2015, and are looking to cut their losses and sell him for around 20 mil. Sevilla are believed to not be prepared to meet this asking price up front, but may be willing to bridge the gap with various bonuses.
Any way you look at it, Bacca has one foot out the door.
