AC Milan sign Andrea Conti

For all intents and purposes - Andrea Conti is now a Milan player after joining Milan from Atalanta in a part-exchange deal that saw €24 million head to Atalanta, along with Milan youth graduate Matteo Pessina.

There has been no official announcement from the Rossoneri, however Andrea Conti is surely a Milan player at this point - with the club heavily publicising his medicals.

Conti joins Milan after a breakout year for Atalanta - where La Dea found themselves becoming one of the heavy hitters in Serie A. They will miss Franck Kessie and Andrea Conti - who move to their main competitors in AC Milan, which is a double blow.

This is exciting news for Milan - who have two defenders in Rodriguez and Conti capable of overlapping and bombarding the final third. Of note is Conti’s impressive goalscoring record - rather rare for a right-back! It’s another ace up the sleeve for Vincenzo Montella - and Conti might be one of the shining lights of what is shaping up to be a great season for Milan. Let’s hope the results deliver in the same way as the mercato.
