Milan's shopping spree continues. Today La Gazzetta Dello Sport reported that Milan is "on the verge" of signing Alvaro Morata. If this is true, Milan has beat out both Manchester United and Chelsea for the Spanish forward.

After the report—which claimed Milan has set forth a €70m bid plus an additional €10m per year for the Spaniard— Milan's sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli spoke to Mediaset and confirmed Milan's interest. In his own words:

‘We have been looking at Morata from the beginning, and he has made himself available, then complications arose between the Champions League final and the emergence of different interested teams and things have cooled since. It can warm up again, but it will be on our terms.’

Mirabelli seems to imply with the statement "it can warm up again, but it will be on our terms" that the deal may still require some more time to come to fruition, but for Milan fans-- and even Italian football fans-- it is refreshing to see that such a talented player may end up at the Rossoneri. The forward would undoubtedly add even more quality to the final third and be just as miraculous of a signing as Bonucci.
