Milan have been circling around plenty of players this summer, and one of those players is Fiorentina’s Croatian forward, Nikola Kalinic. The 29 year-old forward had a fairly decent year for the Viola by bagging 15 goals in just over 30 Serie A games. According to Italian media and TV (thanks to Football Italia for spotting this) - AC Milan are ready to make a serious bid for the striker by offering money along with Gianluca Lapadula to Fiorentina to seal the deal.
Kalinic would offer a fair bit of height and experience to Milan’s forward line, which is currently dilapidated if you exclude Andre Silva from the lineup. Carlos Bacca is unreliable and has lost his edge, and there is no ready deputy - especially if Lapadula is offloaded. With a lot of games coming up, this signing makes a bit of sense for Milan, especially with no news on the Belotti front. One has to ask if Kalinic is that much better than Lapadula, though - as this is a fairly expensive deal for not much improvement at all; but if Montella and company believe that they can get more from Nikola Kalinic, surely the deal is worth pursuing.
