Without adding more fuel to the fire regarding Donnarumma’s contract talks (which we won’t know more about until later today), it’s worth mentioning that Real Madrid and Manchester United are ready to pounce for Milan’s wonderkid if today’s negotiations fail.
Marco Fassone will lead talks - with Mino Raiola being on the opposite side and it looks like this news will play straight into the agents hands. There is very little that Fassone can bargain with now - unfortunately. He can bench the kid, but he’s still a kid and would be expected on the bench - especially if he moves to Madrid or United. Milan are one of the only teams in the world that can offer Donnarumma first team football right now. It might be Donnarumma’s support of Milan that is still keeping this deal alive as the relationship between Milan and Raiola has hit a breaking point.
La Gazzetta dello Sport has reported that if Donnarumma and Raiola turn down Milan’s offer of a new four-year contract at €4 million a season, the Milan man could move overseas within a month. However, Milan’s ownership will try their best to keep Donnarumma for ‘image rights’ and revenue benefits, even with his contract set to expire.
