Is Fiorentina’s Nikola Kalinic worth €30m? You could certainly find an argument to back that, but Milan won’t. According to La Nazione via Football Italia - Milan do not want to spend that much money on the Croatian forward.

Of course, our friends over at Viola Nation grabbed the news back in its early days. However, it’s taken a bit of a twist since then.

AC Milan are considering creative options to bring Kalinic over to Milan. They might not offer much cash, but Gabriel Paletta and Gianluca Lapadula are certainly useful makeweights and will be offered to Fiorentina to lower the asking price. Certainly, a fee of around €15m would be far more acceptable and Milan will be able to lower their wage bill to make room for Nikola Kalinic.

Do Milan have the money to spend? It seems likely, but Fassone and Mirabelli are rather reserved about Kalinic and will not seek to meet the high asking price that Viola have set for their striker. Kalinic had a fairly good season for Fiorentina - especially so in the Europa League where he bagged 5 goals in 7 games. That experience would be useful for Milan as they return to Europe this coming season; but not for €30m.
