AC Milan have made their first step into a bold new era by signing Villarreal’s Mateo Musacchio for a fee rumored to be in an area upwards of €15 million.

This follows an official announcement on the club’s website:

‘Mateo Musacchio is a new AC Milan player. After undergoing his medicals on Monday, at the Clinica La Madonnina, the former Villarreal centre-back today was at Milanello Sports Centre and then at Casa Milan where he signed a contract until 30 June 2021.’

The Argentine centre-back joins Milan on a four-year deal from the Spanish side and will look to shore up Milan at the back - likely partnering with Romagnoli - to ensure Milan have a stronger defence as they embark on their first season back in European competition in a long while.

This is very good news for Milan - who look to be embarking on a serious revamp of the side. More news on new signings to follow!
