If you thought for one second that Milan might delay any transfer business - think again. After the club qualified for Europe yesterday, Mateo Musacchio arrived in Milan to perform a medical ahead of a move. For almost a year, the Argentine defender has been on the radar of AC Milan and that move is moving closer to completion.
Milan’s haste on this move has not gone un-noticed. Rumours of a Musacchio signing have been heavy and it seems like Milan’s new board were waiting for the Rossoneri to clinch Europa League qualification and the all clear from Vincenzo Montella before making their move. They have not waited long at all, with news of Musacchio’s medical arriving not even 24 hours after Milan’s victory over Bologna.
Milan will offer Musacchio’s current club, Villarreal €18 million for their troubles. The two sides could meet in the Europa League next season as well.
Mateo Musacchio would represent a big boost to the defending corps of AC Milan, who suffered some heavy blows from injury - with more matches on the cards, Milan will need reinforcements and the more that arrive with the ability of Musacchio, the better.
