Did you fancy seeing Cesc Fabregas in Milan colours next season? Did the idea of him leading the Milan midfield excite you? Well, The London Evening Standard are reporting that the Spaniard is set to turn down a move to Milan in the summer.
Now, this isn’t a huge setback for Milan. Fabregas is a great player, but he is aging and will eat up a huge portion of Milan’s mercato budget (money which could be used to secure a leading striker). Milan’s bid for Fabregas was rumoured to be in the region of €35 million - which isn’t crazy for 2017, but it is still a huge amount of money for AC Milan, and money that could be better spent.
As for why Fabregas has rejected Milan? Well - it is personal. Cesc likes London, his family are settled and he has a new kid on the way - plus, he has two years left on his contract with Chelsea. Why move?
