The Big Rumor: Gianluigi Donnarumma

Manchester City are the latest club to jump on the hype train

The Sun are a newspaper renowned for their cazzate, but when any news comes out concerning Milan’s prodigal son - Gianluigi Donnarumma - it must be reported.

For whatever reason - Donnarumma’s future at AC Milan is uncertain and a contract has yet to be resolved. This has been and should be a priority for Milan’s new ownership group, but thanks to the presence of Mino Raiola, Gigio’s agent, nothing in regards to Gigio’s contract will be ‘smooth sailing’. Raiola will want record fees and considering the fact that he banked millions from the transfer of Paul Pogba from Juventus to Manchester United - he’s going to be after big money. And rightly so - Donnarumma has won Milan points on his own this season, he needs to be paid!

However, The Sun are reporting that Manchester City - currently without a full-time keeper due to Joe Hart’s Italian adventure as well as Claudio Bravo’s failings - are going to make a beeline for Donnarumma. A cheap beeline. Donnarumma only has a year left on his current contract, so City could sign him for a small fee if Donnarumma wanted to leave. However, Manchester City want a keeper who can use his feet. Donnarumma isn’t really that guy... Not yet.

It’s pretty certain that Donnarumma will stay at Milan for at least one more season, but if Milan want to spend - they should do so on a new contract for the keeper - at the very least to ensure that he doesn’t leave for a tiny fee.
