AC Milan doing everything they can to keep Donnarumma

Donnarumma’s contract is expiring in 2018 and the new leadership duo of Fassone-Mirabelli is already working on a new deal.

Is there anything more important than making Gianluigi Donnarumma the corner stone of AC Milan? Considering that it’s very unlikely that Leo Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo will join the Rossoneri in the next transfer window, no.

Gigo’s contract expires at the end of next season and it’s currently worth a bit more than €350k per season, so that’s why the new market duo Fassone-Mirabelli is working hard to convince Gigio, but especially his agent Mino Raiola, to stay at Milan.

The Rossoneri are offering a 4-year extension (expiring in 2021/2022) which should be worth from 3 to 3.5 million euros per season, but this would not be all. In effect, considering that Gigio’s agent asking price is way higher than the offer, the Fassone-Mirabelli duo is willing to give the captaincy to the young goalkeeper, meaning that Montolivo isn’t likely to be Milan’s captain anymore. In case this would not be enough, they could even bring back the former Rossonero Antonio Donnarumma, Gigio’s brother, as the third goalkeeper in the depth chart in order to convince him to stay there.

It’s still too early to say something definitive, but it looks like Gigio is definitely a priority for the team. As it should be
