Mario Balotelli is the latest star name to be linked with a lucrative move to the Chinese Super League -- Jiangsu Suning are reportedly willing to offer the mercurial forward an extravagant deal worth £11.8 million a season to convince him to sign with them.
Chinese clubs have been flexing their financial muscles as of late, with a number of prominent players departing Europe in order to ply their trade in Asia. Were he to move to Jiangsu, Balotelli would join Brazilian stars Ramires and Alex Teixeira, and would no doubt arrive to a great deal of fanfare given his celebrity status.
Balotelli has struggled on loan at Milan this season and any hopes Liverpool had of Milan re-purchasing the striker seem futile given his under-performance over the past six months. The temperamental forward has seemingly run out of chances to prove his worth in Europe and so a move to China might be the right one for him if he is to re-ignite his career.
Milanisti will no doubt be glad to see the back of Balotelli, with the player's attitude problems and lacklustre performances even more of a nuisance than they were the first time around. Any lingering hope of Balotelli realising his vast, untapped potential seems to have been extinguished once and for all.
