AC Milan showed how poor their depth on both wings is this season, as Giacomo Bonaventura and Keisuke Honda are the only two players on the roster that can play there. For that reason, Adriano Galliani and his staff seem to be already working on an interesting summer move involving Bayern Munich and their young winger Julian Green.
Green never had a real chance to play with Bayern's first team, and even his loan to Hamburger SV didn't go the way he hoped since he only made one appearance with their second team. However, the American winger has some real potential as proved by this year's statistics with Bayern II: in 23 appearances he scored 10 times and made 4 assists, good numbers for someone who play in a wide position.
Despite his good performances with the second team, it's unlikely that he gets a chance to play with Bayern's first team at this point -- no shame in that, considering the elite-of-the-elite tier of attackers the German giants usually buy -- so Milan seems to be interested in acquiring this young prospect as soon as possible. Bringing in a young player of his talent could be a huge boon to Milan's attack, not to mention the extra attention they would garner overseas by bringing in one of the top young talents in the United States men's national team squad.
As reported by calciomercato.com, Julian Green could join the Rossoneri during this summer window and it should even be a cheap deal since his contract is expiring in 2017 and his transfer value is around €1-2 million. If this is his real price, there's no reason why Zio Fester could refuse to try to sign such a young reinforcement in a position where Milan desperately need depth.
