Zlatan Ibrahimovic: Milan Future In My Agent's Hands

New, comment

Ibrahimovic has been linked to Milan since the end of the season but Paris Saint-Germain's forward admitted that now his future depends on his agent.

The saga continues: during this past month of calciomercato there have been numerous rumors linking Paris Saint-Germain star Zlatan Ibrahimovic to his last team, our beloved AC Milan, but neither him nor his agent had not spoken to the media until now and they didn't say anything ordinary, as usual.

Ibra was the first one to interrupt a long silence when Sky Sport reporters asked him about his future during the post game interview of PSG 4-2 win against Fiorentina.

Ibra was very terse and unemotional, which is typical for him, simply saying:

Il mio futuro è nelle mani di Mino Raiola.

That means:

My future is in the hands of Mino Raiola.

That being the case, Milanisti should be either excited or worried, or even both at the same time, for finally hearing something from Raiola -- and that's because his agent released a cryptic statement to the Swedish media only a day after Zlatan's brief interview.

Ask [Zlatan] what he meant, I do not see why I should comment on his words.

Ibra's agent is well-known for his great business instinct, and it's not a coincidence that his players always manage to earn the best contract available for them -- Mario Balotelli being a prime example of his methods -- so it's quite obvious that this is all part of a strategy. In effect, it seems they're attempting to shift something in the negotiations between PSG and Milan, even if La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the two clubs have reached an agreement in principle for a €5.5m transfer fee and a contract that's worth €18m over three years for Ibrahimovic.

One thing's for sure: something is definitely happening between Zlatan's agent and the two clubs, and it just might be that they're closer to finalizing a deal than anyone could imagine.
