AC Milan will play Cagliari at the San Siro tonight. The Rossoneri will want to avoid the embarrassment of last season where they were knocked out in extra time after an uninspired performance. There is a clear route to the Coppa Italia final and Stefano Pioli needs to push him team to fight for it.

Players to Watch

Luka Jovic

The striker had three consecutive goals in three games before the Sassuolo fixture and is looking like a decent option. It will be good to see him start and build into the game. The Rossoneri have numerous gaps to fill in the January transfer window so having him firing gives us more flexibility. Jovic has a chance to kick off the new year with a bang and fight Oivier Giroud for the starting spot giving there are still three competitions to play in.

Simone Scuffet

Scuffet will likely start despite Boris Radunovic playing the previous two Coppa fixtures. Scuffet has only kept one clean sheet in eleven games. The former Udinese man has been making some big saves and will be full of confidence after his top notch performance in the 0-0 draw with Empoli three days ago. Scuffet has only played against Milan twice and kept a clean sheet in the one game at the San Siro in 2013/14 where we lost 1-0 to Udinese. The keeper could cause issues for us as Vanja Milinkovic-Savic did last year where Torino beat us 1-0 after extra time.

Jan Carlo-Simic

The 18 year old has three consecutive appearances under his belt. He is set for his first start after his impressive debut against AC Monza where he bagged a goal followed by two solid displays against Salernitana and Sassuolo. The defender has looked comfortable in this system and seems mature as he does not take risks. The game will be a big test as Simic will be facing two veterans of Italian football in Leonardo Pavoletti and Gianluca Lapadula who have a combined 99 league goals and 18 in the Coppa.

Prediction: Milan 2-0 Cagliari
