AC Milan Face Cagliari In Coppa Italia Round of 16 As Chukwueze Starts Ahead of AFCON

The Rossoneri need to ensue they remain focused and don’t leave it too late as they did last year.

AC Milan host Cagliari at the San Siro tonight in the round of sixteen of the Coppa Italia. The Rossoneri have a golden opportunity to capture some silverware as Inter Milan and Napoli have been knocked out. Juventus are the only major team left in the tournament alongside the likes of Atalanta, Lazio and AS Roma ahead of the quarters.

Stefano Pioli is expected to heavily rotate and deploy a number of the academy graduates. Jan-Carlo Simic is set to start while Davide Bartesaghi and Chaka Traore should get significant minutes while Alex Jimenez is tipped to get his debut.

Samuel Chukwueze is expected to start the game ahead of his departure for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) so he should be looking to get a goal for the Rossoneri faithful to remember him. Ismael Bennacer has already departed to join the Algeria camp. Luka Jovic and Yacine Adli will get starts while the third midfield position is up in the air.

The winner of his fixture faces Atalanta or Sassuolo in the quarter finals.
