AC Milan welcomed AS Roma to the San Siro last night looking to bounce back from their early Coppa Italia exit. Stefano Pioli bested Jose Mourinho yet again in a 3-1 demolition job as the Rossoneri looked in control from very early on.

The match turned into a spectacle when 23 year old Yacine Adli opened the scoring with a lovely long shot after taking out two defenders. The former Bordeaux midfielder has had a tough time adjusting to life in Milan but has shown resilience and is now rewarded.

Olivier Giroud doubled the score just ten minutes into the second half as Simon Kjaer cushioned down a cross for him in the box to head in with tonnes of space. Roma would pull one back from a penalty as Davide Calabria made a rash tackle in the box. Theo Hernandez put the game to rest in the 84th minute with a ballistic shot after a nice one-two with Giroud to kill off the game.

The Rossoneri are now eight points ahead of Fiorentina in fourth place.
