AC Milan have officially announced on their website the departure of midfielder Rade Krunic from the club. The 30 year old Krunic will join Fenerbahce on a loan deal with an obligation to buy under certain conditions.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina international played 14 games this season at the midway point with 10 of those being starts. Krunic made 139 appearances at the club scoring 3 goals and providing 6 assists. He won the Scudetto with Milan in 2021/22.
Krunic has come under intense scrutiny from Milan fans since Stefano Pioli decided to field him as a core starter in the 22/23 and 23/24 seasons. Krunic was considered a favourite of the manager whereas he was a depth option between 2019 and 2022.
Matteo Moretto is reporting that Milan receive 3 million euros plus 1-1.5 million in bonuses. Other sources quote 5 million euros as the purchase price. The conditions for the obligation are very easy to attain so it is certain that his departure is permanent.
