AC Milan have officially announced on their website the signing of Marco Pellegrino from Club Atletico Platense in Argentina. The centre back has been brought in on a permanent deal with contract until the summer of 2028.
Pellegrino only made his first team debut in March 2023 and has since played 17 games scoring 1 goal and helping his side keep 8 clean sheets. He will likely join Milan as the fifth choice centre back for the season behind Fikayo Tomori, Malick Thiaw, Simon Kjaer and Pierre Kalulu respectively taking the spot of Matteo Gabbia who is on loan at Villarreal.
The 21 year old defender has only been played at centre back but there seems to be some potential to have a Kalulu-esque versatility. Pellegrino will wear the no. 31 shirt.
According to the President of Club Atletico Platense via MilanLive.it, the terms of the deal are 3.5 million euros with potential for an additional 2 million in bonuses as well as a future resale clause of 10%.
