Serie A kicks off tomorrow for the 2023/24 season. Napoli come in as champions while AC Milan and Inter Milan will be looking to get their second star. Juventus are only involved in domestic competitions thus will look to challenge for the title while Lazio and AS Roma have strengthened significantly with the aim of cementing themselves in the top four. Genoa, Cagliari and Frosinone are the new faces in the league with some solid squads.
Here are our predictions for the upcoming season:
Scudetto: Inter Milan
Top Four (UCL spots): Inter Milan, Lazio, Juventus and AC Milan
Best of the rest (UEL and UECL spots): Napoli, AS Roma and Atalanta
Relegation: Salernitana, Frosinone and Lecce
Top Scorer: Lautaro Martinez (Inter Milan)
Most Assists: Rafael Leao (AC Milan)
Most Clean Sheets: Wojciech Szczesny (Juventus)
Dark Horse: AC Monza
Best Manager: Raffaele Palladino (AC Monza)
Breakout Star: Daichi Kamada (Lazio)
Best New Signings: Samuel Chukwueze (AC Milan), Gianluca Scamacca (Atalanta), Houssem Aouar (AS Roma), Daichi Kamada (Lazio) and Tijjani Reijnders (AC Milan).
What to watch for: This is a season of change in the league Milan, Lazio and Roma will have numerous changes to their starting line ups. Napoli have a new manager. Inter and Juventus have the most stability heading into the season while Atalanta have an attacking shake up. The first half of the season will dictate the champions for me, it’s all about who can adjust quickly in the next few weeks and pick up those crucial early wins against the bigger sides. This will be one of the tightest top four races we have seen in a while and there will be a big upset in the final standings. Inter and Juventus will likely be the early movers given the stability of manager, squad and playing styles. Genoa and Cagliari look strong and should be able to stay up with their dynamic frontlines.
