AC Milan have now officially announced the arrival of Christian Pulisic on their website after the pre-announcement of socials over the course of the week. The American has signed a deal until 2027 with an option to get to 2028.

The BBC is reporting a 20 million pound transfer fee for the former Borussia Dortmund man who has had a poor spell in London and was largely a flop last season registering just 1 goal in 30 appearances. He has dealt with injuries over the past few years especially struggling with knee issues. Pulisic scored 26 goals and provided 21 assist for Chelsea in 145 appearances across 4 seasons. He is still only 24 years old and can turn this around given he is a Champions League winner and the captain of his national team.

The transfer calls into question the strategy of the new ownership as it seems to pacify the new owners and the lean into winning American fans more so than filling the crucial gaps in the squad. It is not immediately clear if he will take the right winger role or the central attacking midfielder one. He will take Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s no. 11 shirt.

Pulisic is remains the captain of the USMNT and will be looking to rebuild his confidence and gain some momentum ahead of the upcoming World Cup in 2026.
