AC Milan stunned Napoli once again as the Rossoneri managed to peg Luciano Spalletti’s side down 1-0 at the San Siro on a monumental night for both sides. The UEFA Champions League quarter final marked Milan’s return to a deep knockout game for the first time in over a decade while this was the first Napoli team in history to make it to this stage.

Stefano Pioli left smiling as Milan take a 1-0 advantage to the Maradona Stadium in a few weeks as Ismael Bennacer smashed home the winner in the 40th minute. Bennacer capped off a brilliant counter attack led by Brahim Diaz who dispatched to Rafael Leao on the right wing only for him to square it to the opposite side with another helpful touch from Diaz before Bennacer fired a rocket with his left foot which Meret could not stop.

Milan had multiple chances to double their lead as Simon Kjaer rocked the crossbar with a header and Rafael Leao just went wide of the post on multiple occasions.

Napoli will miss Andre Zambo Anguissa due to a red card suspension and Kim Min-jae due to a yellow card suspension for the next game.
