AC Milan travelled to face Salernitana and underwhelmed in their pre-Christmas fixture. Stefano Pioli’s side were wasteful with their opportunities and in partiocular Rafael Leao had a horrendous game and looked unbothered. The attack struggled for large spells of the game to build anything going forward but the referee definitely played a negative part in the result denying a clear handball penalty and ending the game despite time wasting during the additional time.
Fikayo Tomori opened the scoring with a point blank header as a low cross from Leao got pinballed at the defender after some touches in the box. Salernitana equalised from a set piece as Simon Kjaer lost his man. He would be withdrawn at half time for Jan Carlo Simic.
Antonio Candreva scored a worldie as he caught out Mike Maignan with a curling shot from outside the box while Tomori was on the ground to give them the lead. The injury crisis deepens as Tomori withdrew from the game with a seeming muscle injury leaving Simic as the only fit CB.
Milan only managed to steal an equaliser in the 90th minute as Luka Jovic half volleyed in from close range after a great lay off from Olivier Giroud. The game ended as the Rossoneri dropped points yet again and get drawn closer to fourth and further from second.
