Players to Watch
It remains unclear if Bennacer will start our Pioli deploys Adli in the middle of the park, given Musah’s unavailability. The Algerian midfielder is yet to play a full 90 minutes or even 45, but has looks good since his return from injury a couple of weeks ago. His introduction into the system could be a lifesaver for Pioli as he provides significant defensive cover and understands the pressing patterns well. Welcoming him back would be a huge boost given his experience relative to the current starting eleven.
The primavera product is on yet another loan, but being with Monza is by far the most exciting and best trained opportunity he has had. Colombo has three goals in one assists so far, but these entirely came at the start of the season. He is in a bit of a drought, but as we know former Milan players love to scoff at the San Siro, so the defendant will need to keep a good watch on him. This is a huge chance for him to demonstrate to the management that he deserves a spot on the roster next year.
Florenzi has spent the past few games deployed on the left and has done a decent job. Against Newcastle. In particular, he seem to thrive, limiting the late runs of the wingers. This is a big opportunity for him to demonstrate that he can usurp Calabria for the starting spot on the right, given the struggles of the Milan captain. It would be nice to see Florenzi whipping in some nice crosses for Giroud in this one.
Prediction: Milan 3-1 Monza
