AC Milan face Newcastle United in the final group stage game of the Champions League as everything is on the line. A win is the only good result so the pressure will be on Stefano Pioli and his side to deliver something big. Both sides have numerous injuries and are coming off losses so it is hard to predict who will enter the game with an edge.

Players to Watch

Christian Pulisic

5 goals and 3 assists so far but has not stepped up in the Champions League. He is the best performing signing of the summer but needs to make an impact in this game and save the blushes of the Rossoneri. A fourth place finish would be devastating in the UCL and if he can find a goal against an opponent that he would know and a stadium he has played in before, he would undoubtedly become a 10/10 for the club.

Bruno Guimaraes

The midfield is a beast and can change the game. Newcastle are two losses on the run as the team has been torn apart by Eeverton and Tottenham Hotspur but there is something big to play for in this game and that is when Bruno, Joelinton and Longstaff usually turn up. We need to be compact in the midfield and limit the exposure of our defence and let pretty much no shots get to Maignan. Keeping a clean sheet is paramount as we have shown our vulnerability in the second half and collapse once we concede.

Mike Maignan

The keeper has divided opinion this season with mistakes and injuries but also picture perfect saves and insane acrobatics. The Frenchman is due for a new contract too and this qualification could play a role in that. We need a monstrous performance from him as we cannot seem to keep clean sheets and hold a lead. The pressure will be on and we will heavily rely on him to keep us in the fixture.

Prediction: Newcastle 0-1 Milan
