AC Milan Collapse In Stoppage Time As Atalanta Take 3-2 Win In Bergamo

The title race is now over for the Rossoneri. It remains to be seen if the Champions League can be salvaged as we prepare for a top four dogfight.

AC Milan crumbled under the pressure of Atalanta in the second half as the relentless attacking exposed the cracks in our defence as we succumbed to another red card and late goal. A devastating 3-2 loss given the winning goal came in the 95th minute where Luis Muriel embarrassed our defence with a backheel as we were decimated in defence.

The positives would have to be Olivier Giroud scoring a sublime header on his return from suspension and Luke Jovic coming off the bench to score his second consecutive goal with an easy tap in. Mike Maignan also made some miraculous saves.

The Rossoneri faithful will have no regrets with Charles de Ketelaere as he showed he cannot handle the pressure yet again missing a sitter and firing two other shots straight at Mike Maignan. He did manage to get an assist with a low cross for Ademola Lookman’s second goal.

Nothing explains Milan’s struggles more than Davide Calabria. The captain got sent off in the 93rd minute of the game as he struggled yet again against a small side. His season has been quite random as he manages to step up to Kylian Mbappe, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Donyell Malen but collapses facing Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, Lameck Banda and now Charles de Ketelaere. His red card marks Milan’s fifth suspension in just fifteen games.
