Pioli’s job remains on the line and this would be a big moment to prove all the naysayers wrong.

AC Milan host Borussia Dortmund tonight in the penultimate group stage fixture of the UEFA Champions League as both sides look to set themselves up for qualification in a tight group of death. The pair drew 0-0 at the Signal Iduna Park about a month ago.

Stefano Pioli will be missing his talisman Rafael Leao due to injury but will have Ruben Loftus-Cheek back and Olivier Giroud present for the game. Giroud is in fine form but is suspended in the league, he has 8 goals and 3 assists in all competitions thus far.

The Rossoneri fans will be delighted to see Yacine Adli back in the starting line up ahead of Rade Krunic, the youngster has done well but apparently not enough to convince Pioli to be the outright starter. This is a big opportunity for him to have a dominant game under pressure.

As far as qualification, Milan can absolutely not lose otherwise the team are almost certainly out. A win helps the side going into the final game where a draw would likely suffice. Dortmund are the top of the group so a draw benefits them greatly here but Milan must look to take all three points.

Expected Line Up (4-2-3-1): Maignan, Calabria, Thiaw, Tomori, Hernandez, Adli, Reijnders, Chukwueze, Loftus-Cheek, Pulisic, Giroud.
