AC Milan took on Lumezzane in an 80 minute friendly match at Milanello yesterday afternoon. The Rossoneri were facing off against the Serie D side who are unbeaten and have been playing continuously throughout the World Cup.

The Rossoneri were stunned twice by the Lombardian side who took the lead on two occasions during the game. A loose ball allowed a volley for the first goal and a lack of pressure allowed a easy run followed by a stunning shot into the top corner.

Yacine Adli got the start and despite lots of poor touches and a lack of chemistry with his teammates, he managed to score a brilliant solo goal ripping through the midfield with a strong dribble and firing a whopper of a shot at the near post for the 1-1 equaliser.

Stefano Pioli threw on seven Primavera players alongside Kalulu and Thiaw for the final twenty or so minutes which allowed Victor Eletu to play a starring role and secure the win for us. The Nigerian youngster who recently signed a contract renewal poached the ball and laid it off to Alesi for the 2-2 equaliser. A few minutes later he collected a pass in the box and dodged the final defender before slamming it in for the winner as Milan took the spoils in a 3-2 victory.

The team look way off pace and lacked understanding but hopefully Pioli can remedy this over the coming three weeks of training and friendlies.
