AC Milan Beaten 2-1 By Arsenal In The Dubai Super Cup Thanks To Tatarusanu’s Gaffes

AC Milan took on Arsenal FC in their opening friendly match in the Dubai Super Cup as part of the club’s training camp in the UAE ahead of the second half of the season. Milan started the game well and had lots of chances but Divock Origi’s lack of clinical finishing and Ciprian Tatarusanu terrible goalkeeping saw us lose 2-1 to the English side.

Origi had a good chance to turn and take a long shot which pinged the crossbar but missed two sitters, one with his foot and one with his head. Yacine Adli was the standout performer for us yet again as he created lots of opportunities and got the ball into dangerous areas.

Tatarusanu was the flop for allowing a free kick goal from Odegaard as he barley moved for an attempted he could have saved with a mid-height dive. He followed that up with a loose pass out from the back directly to an Arsenal player which led to the second goal from Nelson about two/three passes later. Both their goals came in the first half.

Milan pulled one back in the 77th minute as Sandro Tonali free kick was met by Fikayo Tomori in the box with a powerful header to half the deficit but it was not enough.

The odd penalty shoot out at the end of the game was also lost when an additional point was up for grabs. Milan lost 4-3 as Brahim Diaz and Rade Krunic missed the attempts while Tatarusanu barely moved during the shoot out but managed to save one.

Milan play Liverpool on Friday in their second friendly of the tournament before heading back to Italy to resume training at Milanello and the Christmas holidays.
