One winning goal from the clutch no. 9 while Leao falls out. AC Milan players continue to impress in the World Cup in Qatar in the quarter finals. Two Milan players are heading into the semi finals while one is going home. Here is a breakdown of their performances:
Theo Hernandez - France (England 1-2 France)
Hernandez played the full 90 minutes again and did well for the majority of the game as he bossed Saka and his physicality kept England at bay. He made a massive mistake conceding the penalty with a slight push on Mount but was bailed out as Harry Kane sent the ball sailing over the bar. He heads into the semi finals.
Olivier Giroud - France (England 1-2 France)
Giroud comes up clutch yet again. The winning goal sending his country to the semi finals and trumping Harry Kane on the biggest stage. He scored a sublime header coming onto Griezmann’s cross for the winner. He keeps pushing that all time top scorer record higher.
Rafael Leao - Portugal (Morocco 1-0 Portugal)
Leao is going home having played just 21 minutes in the final game for his country at this World Cup. His side and the hopes of Cristiano Ronaldo winning the biggest prize in football were put to be d by an unbelievable Moroccan side who are defying all odds and pulling off rout after rout.
Milan G/A for the tournament is now at 9. Clean sheets (defenders only) remain at 3.
