Just one assist and one clean sheet this time around. AC Milan players continue to impress in the World Cup in Qatar on matchday two. Three Milan players are already guaranteed to head into the next round as they take with three wins, one draw and two losses. Here is a breakdown of their performances:
Fode Ballo Toure - Senegal (Qatar 1-3 Senegal)
Ballo-Toure was no in the squad yet again but his side picked up an important win that keeps their hopes alive to get through to the next round. They go head-to-head with Ecuador for a qualification spot.
Sergino Dest - USA (England 0-0 USA)
Dest started and played 78 minutes in a stinker of a game. Both sides were cagey throughout and did not create much. The draw is a massive result for the US and a flop for England, qualification remains open for him on the final group stage match day in a crunch tie against Iran.
Charles de Ketelaere - Belgium (Morocco 2-0 Belgium)
CDK came off the bench is a huge upset for Belgium as they were dismantled late into the game by a resilient and creative Moroccan side. CDK came on after the first goal but struggled to make the difference as with Milan. Belgium can still progress with their final game against Croatia.
Simon Kjaer - Denmark (France 2-1 Denmark)
The centre back was benched after his poor opening game in favour of quicker players in a three man defence. France won 2-1 thanks to an Mbappe brace which makes qualification tough with only one spot open.
Theo Hernandez - France (France 2-1 Denmark)
Hernandez started and put in yet another brilliant performance getting another assist in the process. He provided a stunning assist as he and Mbappe broke on the counter and exchanged a one-two in the box for the PSG man to score the opener.
Olivier Giroud - France (France 2-1 Denmark)
He had a tough game as he was man marked and largely locked out of the game. He did well with some flicks and passes but was subbed off early. His side have already secured qualification for the knock outs.
Rafael Leao - Portugal (Portugal 2-0 Uruguay)
Leao was only used off the bench yet again but put in a great shift with solid runs down the wing and cut backs for his teammates. Portugal won 2-0 which also guarantees them a spot in the knock out rounds.
Milan G/A for the tournament is now at 5. Clean sheets (defenders only) at 2.
