AC Milan Women have lost their former starting goalkeeper Maria Korenciova as the no. 12 announced her exit online after a difficult first half of the season where she did not get much playing time.
The 32 year old was expected to leave given the arrival of Laura Giuliani from Juventus in the summer. It is now expected that Selena Babb who is on loan at Sampdoria will return to be the back up.
The Slovakian international played 56 games for the Rossonere in the league and an additional 4 games in the cups but did not feature in the UWCL qualifiers this season.
Korenciova spent three and a half years at the club - pretty much since it’s inception - and helped guide the side to their first Champions League place finish last season. She was one of the key figures in the side and will be missed. It is not immediately clear what her next destination will be.
After 3 and a half beautiful years it’s time to start a new challenge.
