AC Milan Women have been facing a tumultuous season with big issues off the pitch which have affected the performances on the pitch. There has been some conflict between manager Maurizio Ganz and a number of players notbaly captain Valentina Giacinti and star signing Vero Boquete which has led to both players being sidelined, not called up and in the case of Giacinti, stripped of her captaincy.
As the winter transfer window opened up, the issues have begun to have a reckoning as the former Spain international has announced her departure from the club citing the situation as ‘not ideal’. The midfielder had not been called up for the previous seven match days which was a red flag given she was not injured or any other logical reason for the exclusion.
Boquete joined midway through last season hence has spent a year at the club where she played 20 games scoring 2 goals and providing 3 assists.
Non è la situazione migliore, ma partire è la migliore soluzione. È stato un privilegio indossare questa maglia e difendere questi colori. Non posso che ringraziare al @acmilan e i tifosi per l'opportunità e per l'affetto.
