AC Milan on their website have announced that yesterday Olivier Giroud tested positive for a molecular swab carried out at home.

The relevant local health authorities have been swiftly informed. The player is doing well but must remain in fiduciary isolation. It should be noted that Olivier has not had contact with the rest of the team since the championship match against Cagliari.

Giroud has been an important player for Milan in the absence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic leading the line. He has shown quality in the pre season but also has two goals in the opening two games of the season thanks to a lovely brace against Cagliari last week. The player will likely miss the Juventus game and possibly the Liverpool FC game.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has returned to training with the group so it is plausible that his return is expedited and he starts against Lazio but plays for about 45 minutes before Pietro Pellegri being handed his debut.
