After AC Milan’s players did well during the international break, it’s time to turn our focus back on the league. Serie A Femminile will resume play this Saturday and Milan will take on Sassuolo.
Kickoff time will be at 14:30 CET. The team will look to make it four by four and continue their unbeaten streak in the league.
Here’s a brief overview of what you need to know before the game.
Milan (3-4-1-2): Giuliani; Agard, Fusetti, Codina; Bergamaschi, Jane, Adami, Andersen (or Tucceri Cimini); Boquete, Thomas; Giacinti.
Sassuolo (4-3-1-2): Lemey; Philtjens, Dongus, Filangeri, Orsi; Tomaselli, Brignoli, Parisi; Dubcova, Cantore, Clelland
Both Milan and Sassuolo have won their first three matches of the season. The Rossonere have scored more goals than their adversaries, as Milan have notched up a total of sixteen goals in the league. The Neroverde, on the other hand, have only scored eight.
Milan currently has the best defense of the league, as they’ve only conceded one goal. Their defense has also been successful in preventing their opponents from taking shots in their penalty area, as they’ve only allowed one shot on target.
Sassuolo have conceded two goals in the league.
Milan have outclassed their rivals in nearly every area of the pitch and look for them to dominate again this Saturday.
Players to keep an eye on
Though the Rossonere boast quite the talented roster, one should not downplay the threat by Sassuolo. The team is a well-oiled unit that functions well.
The Neroverde boast the likes of Kamila Dubcová, Haley Bugeja , Lana Clelland, Sofia Cantore, Davina Philtjens among their ranks.
Clelland is also a former Fiorentina player and according to Viola Nation, is still the Queen of the Scotts. A good queen knows how to lead their team into battle and Lana will do just that for the Neroverde. She makes Sassuolo’s potent attack even more of a deadly threat.
Milan currently has the best defense in the league, and the team will have to muster every ounce of it to contain the Emilia-Romagnans threat.
Look for the Rossonere to squeak out a hard-fought win. Don’t also be surprised if they manage to win by one or two goals. And don’t also be surprised if they drop points during this fixture as well.
