Last week, AC Milan face Juventus in Turin where new goalkeeper Mike Maignan was the victim of racit abuse from a fan during the warm up. Calcio e Finanza are reporting that Juventus have identified the fan and he has received an official expulsion from the Allianz Stadium by Juventus and will likely face prosecution too. His local Juventus club in Verona have also reportedly removed him from their membership. The incident was reported to the police who will likely escalate the matter

The supporter who hurled offensive abuse at Maignan was interviewed by a local newspaper via MilanLive.it and said:

“I made a mistake and I apologise, I behaved like a fool. I drank too much beer and I was out of my mind in the stadium. I made an idiotic mistake, I was irresponsible.”

Milan continue to promote their RespACT initiative in light of the event here.

“We act with one voice to promote equity, diversity and inclusion: #WeRespAct, always!”
