AC Milan goalkeeper has undergone surgery and will be ruled out as he recovers until at least January 2022. The 21 year old keeper was kept at the club this summer following loan stints with Ternana, Livorno and Reggina in Serie B where he amassed 51 appearances.
Plizzari was expected to be the third goalkeeper for the season behind Maignan and Tatarusanu but the injury rules him out until the second half of the season. This creates some room for Primavera goalkeeper Andreas Jungdal to take up the spot and he could get a debut in the Coppa Italia in a few months.
As per the official statement on the club website,
“Plizzari underwent surgery today to deal with bilateral patellar tendonitis. The operation, which was completed by the Club’s consultant orthopaedist Roberto Pozzoni at the Clinica La Madonnina under the supervision of Club doctor Lucio Genesio, was a complete success. His recovery time is estimated to be three months.”
