After a thrilling Champions League match against Liverpool on Wednesday, AC Milan turned their attention to Juventus. Stefano Pioli tweaked with the starting lineup and strangely started Fikayo Tomori at the right back position. This decision was called into question early on as the Milan defence looked very shaky. Juventus scored very early in the match off a quick counter attack. Later in the half Simon Kjaer got injured and Pioli subbed on Pierre Kalulu, moving Tomori back to his regular centre back position. Once that sub took place Milan looked a lot more into the match. At the half Milan were down one.

Milan looked more calm and in control once the second half started. As the match went on Milan looked more like themselves and started to control the tempo. From the 65th minute on it was Milans match but Milan would have to find that finishing touch to score. Finally, that goal came from a Sandro Tonali corner that found the head of Ante Rebic. It was 1-1 and Milan seemed to be the team to go on and win it. Milan had chances at the end of the match but they couldn't find another goal to close out the match. After 90 minutes Milan 1 Juventus 1.

STARTING LINE-UP
Mike Maignan: Maignan continues to prove that he is a steal of a signing for Maldini. Not much he could do on a one versus one situation with Morata but overall he performed well. 6.5/10
Fikayo Tomori: Wow, Tomori once again is dominating in a match. He started on the right which I really don't like and thought it made the defence worse. Once he was moved back to his natural position he was dominant. 7.5/10

Alessio Romagnoli: I think a pairing of Alessio and Kjaer are just too slow to play such a high line. Once Tomori moved beside him, Alessio looked much more comfortable. 7/10
Simon Kjaer: Not much to go on for the Kjaer performance. He made a few nice tackles but as stated previously he and Alessio are very slow together. 6/10
Theo Hernandez: Theo hasn't gotten off to a very hot start this season. Again in this match he didn't have a massive impact. He made a few decent runs but had a very nice pass at the end of the match to Kalulu that could have ended the match. However, Theo needs to be more impactful. 6/10
Sandro Tonali: Tonali has finally come into his own and got another beautiful assist on the Rebic goal. Tonali is making the case to start every match. 7.5/10

Franck Kessie: Since coming back Franck hasn't looked himself. He isn't as dominant in the middle of the pitch and he really seems out of it. He either has to get his mind back into the matches or he should be replaced. 5.5/10
Alexis Saelemaekers: Saelemaekers wasn't exceptional but I think as the match went on he grew into the match. Right before he was subbed off he was really starting to move around the pitch and cause problems. 6/10
Rafael Leao: This wasn't the strongest performance from Leao but he still had some movements that almost made the difference. On numerous occasions it was him attempting to dribble past or create a chance versus the Juventus defence. 6/10
Brahim Diaz: Playing this many games is starting to weigh on Brahim a little bit. He is being asked to shoulder a lot of the offensive load which he isn't used to. Brahim worked hard but a rest will soon be needed. 6/10
Ante Rebic: Rebic is a big game player, this guy just doesn't get rattled in big game situations. Being played out of position again, Rebic still came to play. 7/10

SUBSTITUTES
Pierre Kalulu: Kalulu came in and proved that he should have started this match. I do not get what Pioli was thinking playing Fikayo out of position but Kalulu showed that he deserves minutes. 6.5/10
Alessandro Florenzi: Florenzi has been fairly consistent so far, coming in and doing the hard work to get the job done. He had a golden opportunity near the end of the match but couldn't get that pass through. 6.5/10
Ismael Bennacer: When Bennacer came in the midfield looked way more control. Bennacer looked at lot better than Kessie in this match and going forward maybe a combination of Tonali and Bennacer would be best for the Milan midfield. 6.5/10
Daniel Maldini: N/A
Manager
Stefano Pioli: In my opinion Pioli got it all wrong to start the match. He should know by now that playing Kjaer and Romagnoli against a top team is a death wish. Once he was forced to put Kalulu in the team played much better. Pioli shouldn't overthink things. 5/10
