AC Milan played Juventus at the Allianz Stadium in Turin last night. Milan went into the game with 3 wins and Juventus went in with none. The Rossoneri were missing strikers Giroud and Ibrahimovic whilst captain Calabria was also ruled out. The side fought hard and took a 1-1 draw away from the game which we could have won in the final 15 minutes.
Milan fell behind early in the 4th minute as Theo Hernandez made a boneheaded pass when Juventus where breaking out of their box following a botched corner. The left back was a liability throughout the game and his early mistake gifted a chance for Dybala and Morata to break for a counter where the latter managed to chip over Maignan to make it 1-0.
Milan fought back and it was not easy with no focal point in attack. A frustrating 70 minutes followed until Milan found the equaliser through the ‘big game’ false nine Ante Rebic. Tonali swung in a cross from the right corner, Rebic rose ahead of Locatelli and headed it at the back post where it was cushioned into the back of the net off the post.
Milan take away a point but one that makes this week a success, a win over Lazio, a respectable loss to Liverpool on the UCL return and a draw with Juventus in the space of 7 days. Bravo Pioli!
