AC Milan Women Obliterate Lazio 8-1 As Captain Giacinti Scores Four

A thunderous performance from the Rossonere who are looking very strong this season.

AC Milan Women took on newly promoted Lazio in the league yesterday facing former manager Carolina Morace and came away with a resounding 8-1 win with captain Valentina Giacinti starring.

New signing Lindsey Thomas finally boke her duck scoring the opening goal of the game from a Vero Boquete through ball. Giacinti scored shortly after with strong finish off a lobbed ball from Greta Adami. Giacinti scored another off Thomas’ pass and one more with a tap in from Valentina Bergmaschi’s cross. The Rossonere went into the half time break with a 4-0 lead.

In the second half, Thomas opened the scoring again with a calm finish from a Boquete pass. Giacinti then scored her fourth of the game while Giacinti easily placed in from Adami’s cross. Vero scored the seventh of the game with a stunning shot across the goal into the back of the net as the ball rebounded to her. Lazio managed to pull one back as Maria Korenciova failed to keep a clean sheet in her first game of the season. The youngster Serena Cortesi scored a lovely free kick to cap off the victory. 8-1.
