AC Milan took on Real Madrid in their third friendly match of the European Summer Tour sponsored by Socios.com. Milan brought back a couple of players as Pierre Kalulu and Simon Kjaer featured. The game ended 0-0 as Carlo Ancelotti and Stefano Pioli could not get passed one another.
Theo Hernandez cam bursting out the gates smashing the first post in the third minute of the game following a good run down that left wing. Davide Calabria conceded a silly penalty when he and Sandro Tonali got their legs tangled up with Gareth Bale in the 39th minute. Bale stepped up and shot to the left but Mike Maignan guesses right and saved the penalty with ease.
The second half was quieter but Diaz continued to make a case to be the starter with good runs and passing exchanges but another threatening shot that almost curled into the top corner. The game ended with a whimper in this tame 0-0. Our defense looks solid but the attack is definitely worrying.
Maignan was easily the most impressive played in this game, he made a number of crucial saves and was focused to concede in this game. The penalty save was a big bonus too.
