The defender joined in January 2020 and has helped turn around the fortunes of the club and was a rock for Milan last season. He also went on to have an unbelievable run at the Euro 2020 tournament showing his leadership which will be appreciated by the management. The player has a deal expiring in 2022 and the idea is to renew him until 2024 but the contracts will be yearly presented to the player. He is expected to get a pay bump from 1.2 million euros to 1.5 million euros per year.
Calcio Mercato are reporting that Milan’s management are scheduled to meet with the agent of the player, Mikkel Beck to discuss the renewal soon. Kjaer’s situation will belinked to the future of Romagnoli regarding a starting spot and the captaincy.
