Gianluca di Marzio is reporting that AC Milan and Venezia have found an agreement for defender Mattia Caldara to leave on loan this summer. There were a number of meetings over the past couple of weeks to find this agreement that had been publicly addressed by Venezia’s director a few days ago. Caldara just returned from an 18 month loan at Atalanta but the club did not take up the option to sign him permanently. He has struggled with injuries at Milan since joining from Juventus in the summer of 2018.
Calcio Mercato are reporting that the deal is a loan with an option to buy and are reporting that Milan will pay a part of the player’s salary for the season. The player has a contract with Milan until 2023 and earns 2.2 million euros per year.
Antonio Vitiello is adding that the buy out option is set at 4 million euros and note that the player turned down offers from Cagliari and Sampdoria to accept this move.
