AC Milan Women kicked off their Serie A season yesterday afternoon against Hellas Verona at home. Mauricio Ganz’s side was playing following their elimination from the UWCL in the round 1 finals. The side opened with a slamming 4-0 victory in which captain Valentina Giacinti shone again.

The captain bagged a first half brace as she hit a milestone getting 50 goals for Milan in the league. Giacinti scored the opener finding Boquete’s ball and firing it into the back of the net. Bergamaschi scored next as she whipped in a cross that floored the keeper and went all the way into the back of the net. The Rossonere were awarded a penalty right at the end of the first half, Giacinti stepped up and slotted home for 3-0. In the second half, Boquete picked up the ball on the counter dribbled down and easily beat the keeper for 4-0.

A big win for the Rossonere who announce their intentions of fighting for the Scudetto this season.
