AC Milan welcomed back two critical parts of Stefano Pioli’s squad to training at Milanello. The magnificent midfield duo of Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer returned to training on the same day. The African stars have been central to Milan’s success over the past two years as they have anchored the entire squad and really raised the bar of the squad.
Bennacer returns from his absence due to contracting the coronavirus. He was in isolation for about a week or two but remained training as he was no significant symptoms.
Kessie returns following his spell with the Ivory Coast U23 national team in the 2020 Toky Olympics where they were knocked out by Spain in the quarter finals. Kessie made a huge impact in the tournament as one of the stand out players and scored a banger in the opening game.
Both players took part in the training session yesterday afternoon with the rest of the squad and will likely feature this weekend against Panathinaikos ahead of the season opener next weekend.
