The final AC Milan player left in the UEFA Euro 2021 tournament has now been eliminated. Simon Kjaer, who captained Denmark was incredibly harshly knocked out of the tournament by England last night on an extremely soft penalty call in extra time. Denmark held England to a 1-1 draw at full time but fell behind in extra time to set up a Italy vs England final for Sunday. Kjaer put in a good shift but unfortunately scored an own goal and a squared ball forced him to slide in for an interception as Sterling pressed and he knocked it into the back of his own net.

Denmark had a ridiculously up and down spell in the Euros, they lost Christian Eriksen in their opening game when he had a heart episode on the pitch causing him to collapse. In this moment, Kjaer stepped up and showed his maturity in the handling of the situation. They had 0 points after their opening two games but somehow dug deep and pulled off some incredible performances to make it all the way to the semi finals.
