AC Milan have officially announced on their website the signing of Greta Adami. The Italian midfielder, previously at ACF Fiorentina, has signed a contract with the Rossoneri club until June 30, 2023, and will wear the number 8 jersey.
Adami has been a mainstay at Fiorentina over the past decade amassing 199 league appearances scoring 17 goals in that time from central midfield. Adami was the captain for Fiorentina last season as they finished in fourth place. Adami importantly brings Champions League experience to this side and will likely be deployed as a defensive midfielder. Last season she made 19 appearances in the league, 4 in Champions League and scored 4 goals.
She is part of the overhaul this summer that seeks to prepare Maurizio Ganz’s squad for the UEFA Women’s Champions League by raiding Serie A for experienced players as she arrives following Lindsey Thomas from AS Roma and Laura Giuliani from Juventus.
